Why I started selling real estate
I began selling real estate after working for years in the corporate world. I have been laid off 7 times and left willingly from two jobs in my entire working career. The last straw came when the last company I worked for (a Japanese company) decided to "down-size." They shut down an entire manufacturing plant here in GA and moved all manufacturing to California. We (the employees) were not given the opportunity to relocate. So, I decided after much reflection on my career that the only thing that would ensure my not being laid off again would be to go into business for myself. I registered for the Real Estate Pre-Licensure course at the local Technical College and began my career as a real estate agent. I never realized the importance of a dedicated real estate professional (REALTOR) until I began my journey into the world of real estate. As a REALTOR, I am a member of the Local Board of REALTORS and participate in Continuing Education to make sure that I am well versed on changes in the real estate industry. I also am networking with over 600 other REALTORS who are members of the Board. This means that if you list with a REALTOR, then your property is potentially seen by over 600 members of the Board! Networking REALTORS are responsible for over 80% of the homes and properties sold, and you are more likely going to get your asking price for your home (if your home is priced appropriately). Pricing is the number one issue right now in moving real estate due to the mortgage crisis that has hit the US. If your home is over-priced, it will sit for months on end. Who better will know what your home will sell for than a REALTOR who is daily checking the real estate market and is versed in what has sold in your neighborhood? Wouldn't it make sense to hire someone who is constantly looking at property than trying to sell it yourself? Wouldn't it make sense to hire someone who knows the ins and outs of the real estate industry because they are up on the current trends in the real estate market? This is NOT an ad as some would think...just my 2 cents. |

It was interesting reading your intel. The prices of properties in our area have stayed about the same and going higher. Buying property in this area is definitely a good investment. I look forward to reading more intels from you.
